Been developing a new batch of ILoveMyBBQ Smoking Woodchips and this time we are trying Beer. The difficulty with using most beers is that they don’t penetrate as deeply into the wood chips as the likes of wine and whisky does.
This means you have to try and find a strong beer. That is, strong in flavour, not strong in percentage volume.
The new batch of flavoured BBQ Smoking Wood Chips should be appearing very soon and we will let you know how we get on.
Smoking Barbecue woodchips aside for a moment, a rare blast of hot weather meant that we could sneak in a quick winter weekend BBQ and it turned into a really fun one.
We used the wire basket for this salmon BBQ recipe and crikey it tasted good. Here is what we did.
There was 4 of us in attendance so we bought four salmon fillets, about 6 big and juicy oranges, 6 lemons, a few limes and that was is.
We sliced the lime, lemon and oranges into segments that were about the same size that you get in your drink down the pub.
After opening up the wire rack we placed a layer of the mixed up sliced fruit and then put the salmon on top of the fruit followed by another layer of the mixed citrus fruit on top and closed the rack.
Essentially, we had created a salmon sandwich with fruit on top and underneath the soon to me grilled fish.
The wire rack was then placed on the BBQ grill and left for around 15-20 minutes per side (cooking times may vary).
Hey presto the latest BBQ Recipe was finished and ready for eating.
