Herb Crusted Lamb BBQ Recipe

Herb Crusted Lamb BBQ Recipe

We have tried this simple to make BBQ recipe few times now, adding a few bits here and there and I think it is now at the stage where I we are ready to unleash it upon the world. :-)

Lamb is a big favourite of ours, we usually get a leg, rolled, with the bone removed from our local butcher in Huntley. Incidentally, his butchers shop has been around since the 1600’s, amazing! We roll it out, add the herb crust and then pop it in a big rack for cooking on the BBQ.

Here is the step by step guide to making Herb Crusted BBQ Lamb for 4 people

Ingredients:

1.8kg Boneless, Leg of Lamb
Pot of breadcrumbs or if making own, 6/7 slices of bread
1 good handful of Coriander - chopped
7 or 8 sprigs of chives - chopped
2 sprigs of rosemary - chopped
1 x tsp cayenne pepper
2 x Onions - finely chopped
2 Glugs of Dry White Wine

Step By Step Recipe guide to Herb Crusted BBQ Lamb
1. Make your breadcrumbs or pour your pot of breadcrumbs into a large glass mixing bowl
2. Add all the herbs and onions and mix
3. Pour in your wine and mix again
4. Unroll your lamb and place it into a roasting tin
5. Press the breadcrumb mix hard into the lamb
6. Turn the lamb over and repeat
7. Leave to stand (optional)
8. Place in the BBQ Basket, or if not using one, on the grill, on a medium heat
9. Turn every 15 mins and cook for about 1hr and 10mins, or until it is cooked to your liking
10. Tuck in!

NOTE, with regards to how to set up your coals, we use a kettle BBQ that acts like an oven. My preference is to put the coals on one side of the grill only so I have a high heat and medium heat section. I tend to seal meat on the high heat and then cook it for the remaining time on the medium heat section to prevent charring!

Found a New and Fantastic BBQ Grills, Gadgets, Gizmo’s and Equipment Website

Found a New and Fantastic BBQ Grills, Gadgets, Gizmo’s and Equipment Website

Raw Garden - Website of the week

Raw Garden - Website of the week

Oh my god! I have not been this excited about a BBQ related find since I discovered the Beer Can up the Bum Chicken… We have found a new BBQ gadget, equipment and tools website called Raw Garden and it is Fricking Awesome.

Credit should go to an eagle eyed BBQ’er who tipped me off about the site and it comes at exactly the right time for me as I am thinking about getting a second BBQ for the new Decking area I have built.

Raw Garden has a fantastic range of BBQ’s and I have picked out a couple of my favourites.

Grill Tech Space 800

Grill Tech Space 800

My absolute favourite is this Grill Tech Space 800 which will last for years and costs only £199.99!

The Grill Tech Space 800 also double up as a fire pit and what I like most about it are the tables which I feel are lacking off my current Kettle Style BBQ.

I recently spotted one of these style of BBQ at a massive garden centre in the Midlands that I went to as I heard they had a brilliant BBQ range but the cost for the equivilent product was in the region of £500.00, which is why I think the Raw Garden product represents such great value for money.

Raw Garden has so many funky Barbecues it is difficult to fit all the ones I like onto this blog page… but hey, I will give it a go.

I really like this Dancook 1500 Kettle Charcoal BBQ that comes with a preparation table, again, something I would find really handy for our own Kettle BBQ. Prep tables are an essential part of any BBQ and come in very handy indeed.

The Dancook 1500 Kettle Charcoal BBQ costs £294.99 which I know is quite expensive but is again well worth the money when you compare to some of the high street prices!

Finally, hows about this beast then; The Napolean Prestige ii 750 Gemini Gas BBQ which comes in at  a whopping £3200.00. As you can see, it looks awesome and if you want to pimp up your pad then this would sit perfectly in your garden!

There are enough gadgets and widgets on this BBQ to make sure you never burn your bangers again, and what is more, its sleek design and brushed aluminium finish means that in the right light and at the correct angle your BBQ could possibly be observed from space - (maybe getting a bit carried away now!).

Anyway, I am off to go and have more of a nose around the Raw Garden website.

Heard a Great Anthony Worrall Thompson BBQ Sausages Joke

Heard a Great Anthony Worrall Thompson BBQ Sausages Joke

Anthony Worrall Thompson

Anthony Worrall Thompson

Apologies to everyone who has heard this before but a friend of mine recently told me about this supposed fact (i reckon it is an urban legend, but who cares, it is funny).

Apparently when Anthony Worrall Thompson had a range of Pork BBQ sausages there was a mistake with the packaging design and underneath his pictures was written “Prick with a fork”… apparently it was the cooking instructions, but he is rumoured to have taken great offence.

Very funny indeed!

I have been trying to find a copy of the image using a search for Anthony Worral Thompson but found nothing… can anyone suggest anything?

Bad Weather Halts BBQ Play This Weekend

Bad Weather Halts BBQ Play This Weekend

Duggle In Snow

Duggle In Snow

Cairo’s birthday weekend and we were hoping to have a BBQ festival of meat grilling but snow has stopped play.

Yesterday was a lovely day so we toddled off to the pub and sat there for far to long and had lunch. Today, Sunday, we were hoping to have a BBQ and had even got some chicken in ready to butterly and marinade but then the snow fell.

We woke up this morning and there was snow everywhere. We donned our groovy new walking gear and got ready. Duggle had never experienced snow before so we dragged him up the hill and off for a walk!

As you can see, he loved it. Back to the pub for another walk later on and lets hope the weather brightens up for next weekend so we can fire up the Grills!
